Asus Eee laptop - $350

My new laptop, the Asus Eee UMPC. You can pick these things up brand new for $350 from Newegg.com, or a number of other places. I can’t say enough good things about this thing. It has no mechanical moving parts besides a fan. Instead of a hard drive, it has a FLASH-based solid-state drive. It’s small/light enough to carry around, but functional enough to get real work done (i.e. no squinting at a tiny PDA/iPhone/Crackberry display, no OS limitations). For the price, you can’t beat it.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to leave this thing alone… Modifications planned as of right now: Touchscreen, second SDD, RAM upgrade, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver. All of this stuff will be crammed inside the case, similar to this project.
